Before their lovely Sonoma wedding, Caitlin and Roan came to me with one request: Focus on family. You see, Roan is from “across the pond” so his family traveled far from Sweden to celebrate with him and his bride. They spoke about how this was something that would only happen once – so many of their loved ones, in the same place, honoring their wedding day. This special event felt like “lightning in a bottle” – a sacred event I had just one chance to capture. Caitlin and Roan wanted to make sure they could watch back the faces of their family, and I am happy to say that is what I delivered.

A MacArthur Hotel Sonoma Wedding

Roan is from Sweden, and moved to the States to work in the software tech industry. By the swipe of an app, and some stars aligning just right, he met Caitlin in San Francisco.

They chose the beautiful MacArthur Hotel as the venue for their Sonoma wedding. I included this location in my list of top wedding venues I filmed last year. It has a lovely estate garden vibe that puts everyone at ease. Perfect for a couple who wanted an intimate chance for their family to relax and connect.

To this day, this was one of my favorite events to capture as a luxury wedding videographer.

Bringing Swedish Traditions to California

Continuing their focus on family, Cailtin and Roan incorporated multiple Swedish traditions into their Sonoma wedding day. My favorite part was during their ceremony, when everyone raised a glass of champagne and cheered the couple on just before they kissed.
