The Fig House is a California wedding venue nestled between Los Angeles and Pasadena. Its modern design and outdoor experience blend lush gardens with a dose of character to curate weddings for couples with a unique sense of sophistication. Lay and Jonathan’s Fig House wedding, featured below, was a black-tie affair with carefully planned elements centered on guest experience and chic decor.
Fig House Wedding Ceremonies in a Garden Setting
A Fig House wedding offers an indoor/outdoor experience with ceremonies taking place in the venue’s al fresco garden. The open-air space features meticulously well-maintained topiaries with rows of sparkling cafe lighting hanging overhead. Though the space provides an intimate setting for a cozy experience, it has the ability to host up to 200 seated guests.
At the start of Lay and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony, guests were greeted with a welcome cocktail, signifying the beginning of a well-intentioned experience with a festive atmosphere.
Lay and Jonathan, two best friends and soul mates, exchanged vows among the lush scenery of saplings and shrubbery. With their family and friends in attendance, they promised to love and honor one another for all of their days.
When they were announced as married, an outbreak of cheers erupted from their friends and family. White flower petals were tossed in the air, with guests overjoyed to spend the evening celebrating the newlyweds. Cocktail hour preceded Lay and Jonathan’s reception (featuring a high-energy dance floor), which unfolded later in the evening.

Reception Venues in Los Angeles with Modern Design
The Fig House is a wedding venue described as design-forward. It embodies the quintessential style of laid-back California, with a bold, colorful interior evoking mid-century character. The interior reception venue at The Fig House can be designed to host a wedding that embodies a unique sense of style and lush decor.
For Lay and Jonathan, a black-tie affair awaited. Guests adhered to an all-black dress code, donning formal evening wear. The chic attire created a cohesive look for their wedding day, seen through their wedding video and photography experience.
In contrast to the black-required dress code, florals for Lay and Jonathan’s wedding at The Fig House were bespoke arrangements of monochromatic white. Delicate florals of varying stem length were set at guests’ seating in organic arrangements exuding modern sophistication.
Softly flickering candles, a vintage wedding cake, and deeply personal toasts featuring storytelling elements to honor Lay and Jonathan wrapped up an epic celebration.
