Amanda and Kevin’s original plan was to get married on a Malibu beach surrounded by family and friends. But 2020 had other plans. Because of California’s regulations their guest list was cut, their date changed, and Amanda’s dream beach wedding was now an elopement at the California Yacht club.
And even though it sounds like an exclusive club you don’t have to be a member to host your wedding there! This beautiful waterfront venue was the perfect backdrop for Amanda and Kevin’s wedding.
This 100 plus wedding was now a ceremonial family elopement (A date was set to capture their reception separate) and through all the chaos the couple never forgot the little details. My favorite part of this wedding day (besides Amanda’s something blue leather jacket) we’re their custom-made champagne bottles! I remember seeing those bottles and thinking “I want these at my wedding!”
The wedding was small-er, but it was important for Amanda and Kevin to get married. For Amanda’s father. As an older gentleman Amanda wanted to make sure her father saw her in your wedding dress and walked her down the aisle. She even did a first look with her dad!!
Amanda and Kevin said there I Do’s on the hottest day is September, I’m pretty sure it was 103. But sweating through my outfit was worth it to capture this wedding!! And as a bonus to the day, a couple asked Amanda and Kevin to come aboard their boat! Even though it wasn’t the beach wedding they envisioned. Sailing off into the sunset is a pretty good consolation prize.
Don’t believe me watch the video!
And when I capture their reception, I’ll make sure to bring water, or more than I brought last time. Because hydration is important!
