The Different Types of Wedding Videos We Offer

Weddings

April 5, 2024

This is the perfect time to familiarize yourself with different video options for your future wedding. Not only does each videographer have their own unique editing style, but there are different wedding video types to choose from. From a quick highlight reel to a full documentary style production, you choose how you want your story told.

Below I cover the differences in the wedding videos we offer here are the Siren & Co. Explore this post to consider options you may have never seen before! For ways to capture your love story every step of the way, from “yes, I will!” to “Yes I do”

A Save the Date or Engagement Video

I rave about ‘save the date wedding videos’ every chance I get, especially on the blog. That’s because save the date videos are rapidly replacing “traditional” save the date cards, and for good reason. I dive deeper into why in this post, but for now, let me introduce you to a type of wedding video you get to shoot before your wedding day!

In an engagement video, we tell your story, add some personality, and show off your fiancé. This short video acts as a perfect engagement announcement online, or can even be sent as a virtual save the date!

This means you get a chance to meet up with your videographer in person, months in advance. It’s the best way to get your nerves out before your wedding, so you’re way more comfortable in front of the camera when the big day comes.

A Cinematic Highlight Wedding Video

Now for our first wedding day video type – the perfect highlight reel. This 4-6 minute video option captures the best of the best. Your first look, walking down the aisle, your first kiss, cutting the cake – you know all the moments!

Many of the videos I share on the blog from past couples are examples of this Cinematic Highlight video package option. Though this is the shortest of the wedding day video types we offer, we really pack a lot in! Though if you are wanting even more coverage, keep reading below.

A Documentary Style Wedding Film

To relive more of your wedding day through video, a documentary wedding video is for you. In our package options this style of video is 10-20 minutes long. It often includes voiceovers of your vows or speeches, and clips of moments your guests shared that you didn’t get to see in person.

This is the perfect video for my weekend weddings to send to loved ones who were unable to be present on your big day. And of course this is the recording you’ll be pulling out every anniversary for years to come.

A Raw Footage Edit

We call our longest and most thorough wedding video option a Raw Footage Edit. This is your wedding day in its purest form, a 20-45 minute long film that truly covers it all.

Don’t be confused by the “raw footage” name though – this long-form video is still as beautifully edited and styled as any of our shorter options.

Now Mariah and Andrew did select the raw footage package. However, they asked for it be be private so check out their highlight video instead.

LOOKING FOR THE SIREN TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING ?

You truly can’t go wrong with any of these video lengths! We pour just as much creativity and hard work into every single one.

Contact our team to discuss which of these video types will fit best into your wedding goals. We want to hear all about your amazing plans so that your videography package captures it all. We can’t wait to hear from you!
