If you know me at all, you’ll know how happy I was to film Darius and Krystle’s wedding right next to Disneyland! In fact, my love for the Disney parks is exactly what brought me and this couple together on Instagram. We bonded quickly and instantly shared a vision for their Anaheim wedding day. I’d love to tell you more about it below, before you watch the wedding film our team created!
A Westin Hotel Disneyland Wedding
Krystle and Darius choose the newly built Westin Hotel as their venue. It is within walking distance to the parks, and you can even see the Incredicoaster in the background! This meant that in the evening, right as the Disneyland firework show began, the newlyweds could sneak away for a special moment with the fireworks in the background. I am getting ahead of myself, but that was my favorite part of the whole day to capture!
Family is Everything
Family was the center of this wedding. The groom Darius lost his mother years past, but the ways he honored her in every aspect of his wedding were so touching. They shared printed family photos, mentioned her in speeches, and planned a special first dance moment which you’ll see in the video.
The wedding party got ready together at the Westin. The bridesmaids popped champagne with a perfect view of Disneyland out the window! After donning their dress and suit, Krystle and Darius headed to the Bride’s home church to say their “I Do’s”
When we arrived back at the Westin Hotel, the ballroom was transformed into a reception for 200+ guests, and the party began!
For their guestbook, Darius and Krystle ditched the traditional book and had a phone audio guestbook instead! It was so fun for guests, and we loved incorporating the sweet voice recordings into their wedding film. Hit play below to see how we used them!
